Ahhh.....The Hooker Prom. Teenager denied entrance to prom for skanky dress.

The school was definitely right on this one. To say that her dress covered her nipples is really quite generous of you. The fabric is so thin that there is really nothing left to the imagination. I'll bet she's not even wearing any panties. And what parent in their right mind would let their daughter leave the house looking like that?

I really think that some parents need to be smacked witht he crap they let their children wear. I also think using the term parents to describe the people that have these children is generous.

Many parents today are so caught up in "being cool" and their babies "being hot" that they ceased being parents long ago.

Well,I degree yes should have left when they told her to but also the teachers should've let her in to enjoy her night;because she'll never have that opporunity again besides girls now a days where wear more revealing outfits then that on a daily bases.

Sorry, but the daily skankiness of attire in America does not make this ok.

This was a high school prom not a video or even a private party. She was given the rules when she filled out the order form for the prom tickets. They even boldfaced and made the type larger for the dress code rule on the paper. She KNEW the rule and she chose to ignore it.

So she needs to quit her whiing. Its her own fault she missed her prom. Hell, she even chose to go to jail rather than going home.

Guess what - its not ok to dress like you are a Playboy Bunny in high school.

As a parent, I would be pissed if they allowed somebody dressed like a Playmate into school functions.

Since you mentioned that there was a dress code in place, and it is a private function, then yes, she was in the wrong here.

I couldn't agree with you more.

As someone who works with youth, I think they should've asked her to go home and put a nice jacket on and return to the prom. Or how about having shawls on hand for those who arrive immodestly attired.

I know there is a lot of cleavage showing at my son's school. I don't like the manner in which the girls are ordered to cover-up. it is kind of demeaning and should be a private conversation. I do see a problem with what the young woman was wearing. It isn't a beach, but a school dance.

not being there, I don't know how the chaperone approached her.

The only problem with that solution is that once the girls get inside they are just going to remove the cover up. In a dark crowded ballroom it's next to impossible for the chaperons to make sure the girls stay appropriately dressed. In fact, if you read the article the girl did offer to cover herself as you suggested. I think the officials were right to reject that offer for the reason I just mentioned. A suitable compromise would have been for the girl to go home, change her clothes, and then return, but she was far more interested in making a spectacle of herself than she was in actually attending the prom.
